The team at Northcare Physio says farewell to Andrew Aish, senior physiotherapist and co-founder who is retiring after 27 years of dedicated service.

Andrew originally started out in a house on Bridge St near Parabanks Shopping Centre, partnering with Bob Sellers and John Porter. Together they designed and built our purpose built clinic at Park Terrace, Salisbury Plain in 1991.

Andrew gained APA accreditation as a Sports Physiotherapist and followed his interests in sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy with involvement in local sporting clubs, State SANFL teams and in 2000 as a volunteer physiotherapist at the Sydney Olympics.

Whilst Bob and John have both since moved on, Andrew has remained a strong leader of the Northcare business until his retirement last Friday. Andrew is a Salisbury icon, and we are hopeful he will still continue to make special guest appearances for a while longer as a casual contractor.

Andrew is known by all staff as a most caring and supportive senior physio with a great sense of humour. Over the years he has been known to come up with really fun and interesting ways to celebrate Christmas functions etc, with cable hang gliding, paint ball skirmish, performance nights and sliding down Montefiore Hill on blocks of ice being just a few.

Andrew is also not the best handyman and the ongoing joke is that if all else fails “Andrew can fix that with rigid tape”

We will certainly miss Andrew’s sense of humour, and we wish him and his family all the best in retirement.
