Amin Bashourzadeh

Amin Bashourzadeh has a great passion for physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation of his patients. Amin completed his physiotherapy degree at Charles Sturt University and his post-graduate degree in Clinical Rehabilitation at Flinders University.

Amin has more than 10 years clinical and research experience. His main interests are physiotherapy for musculoskeletal and sports injuries of spine, shoulder, and ankle joints, balance disturbances, and posture abnormalities.

Amin possesses special and advanced knowledge in the treatment of headaches and temporomandibular (TMJ) joint dysfunctions. Amin has extensive experience and expertise in manual therapy techniques, dry needling, and therapeutic exercises.

Amin is enthusiastic about his patient’s proactive control over their treatment through education. Amin can also communicate in Persian and Farsi Dari languages.

Amy Heath

Amy Heath is an experienced physiotherapist who graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) from the University of South Australia. After five years working for the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Amy relocated to New Zealand and completed post-graduate qualifications Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation and obtained accreditation in Vestibular Rehabilitation.

Amy enjoys working with clients to help achieve their best possible outcomes. Her special interests and expertise include neurophysiotherapy (Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis etc), vestibular rehabilitation (BPPV, dizziness, neuritis), health of the older person (strength, balance, falls prevention), and women’s health.

Amy relocated to Mount Gambier in September 2018 and is looking forward to working with and becoming part of the South-East community.

Andrew Carr

Andrew Carr completed his physiotherapy studies in 1991, and worked in private practices in Adelaide for 3 years before working in the United Kingdom for 9 months at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

On his return to Adelaide, Andrew completed a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia (1997-1998) where his thesis investigated the strength and performance characteristics of the shoulder muscles in elite swimmers.

Andrew has worked in private practice throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area for over 20 years and has extensive experience in the treatment and management of complex sporting and compensable injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Andrew has been physiotherapist for several sporting teams including Matrics Netball Club (1998, 1999), South Australian U17 Cricket Team (1999), Glenelg Football Club (2000, 2001, 2002). Andrew was a contracted provider of rehabilitation services to WorkCover SA from 2002-2012 and has extensive experience in all aspects of compensable physiotherapy and medico-legal work.

Blake Palmer

Blake Palmer is a physiotherapist who graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia. He is interested in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries Blake Palmer and has experience in a variety of sporting teams including North Eastern MetroStars Soccer Club and FC Barcelona Escola. During his studies, Blake also worked weekends as a Physiotherapy Assistant at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Blake’s passion for physiotherapy is largely driven by his love of sports and because of this he has a strong commitment to further developing his skills in this area. He has a strong desire to help people improve their daily lives, particularly through exercise and rehabilitation. His ambition is to collaborate with patients to reach their unique goals and provide self-management strategies to empower patients to achieve long-term solutions.

Blake plans to undertake a Masters in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in the future and continues to keep up-to-date with the latest evidence-based treatments. Outside of physiotherapy, Blake likes to play soccer and cricket as well as stay active at the gym.

Bridget Sugden

Bridget Sugden graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2010 and moved to begin work in Adelaide soon after.

Bridget has a passion for a multitude of sports, having just begun triathlons, and has an extensive background competing at elite levels in trampolining and gymnastics. This passion also carries over to physiotherapy where she loves working with any athletes, but particularly so with dancers (with current focus on Irish dancers), gymnasts, trampolinists, calisthenics competitors, rugby players and triathletes.

Bridget enjoys working with people from all walks of life but especially enjoys working with children. She believes it is important to educate patients to help them understand their issues, and assist them to manage their injuries to achieve their goals and carry on with life.

Calum is a passionate senior physiotherapist with more than 10 years experience. He completed his post graduate studies at The University of Queensland and adopts a hands-on approach to treatment. Calum has particular interest in the treatment and management of sports injuries, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, both pre and post surgery.

Calum has worked with many elite sporting teams including the Queensland Reds Rugby Union team  and the Samoan Rugby League team. His current involvement sees him working locally with  the  NT  Titans Rugby League , Nightcliff Dragons Rugby League, and Nightcliff Tigers Football Club.

Catherine Ward

Catherine Ward graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2000.

Since graduation, Catherine has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, disability service, aged care, and community-based physiotherapy. Through this, she has developed a range of experience in areas including women’s health, particularly peri-natal physiotherapy, vestibular rehabilitation, management of cervicogenic headaches, back pain, sporting injuries, gym rehabilitation and hydrotherapy.

Catherine has worked at Northcare Physio, based predominantly at the Golden Grove clinic, since 2002. Outside of work, Catherine enjoys spending time with family and friends, and has a strong background in sport, particularly netball, swimming and athletics.

Dan Mayne

Dan Mayne is a physiotherapist and rehabilitation consultant with over 10 years experience helping people of all levels of health rehabilitate from injuries and reach their physical goals.  Dan works between our Cairns and Smithfield clinics, as well as Cairns Base Hospital. Dan specialises in sporting, workplace and chronic conditions, and is passionate about helping motivated people get back on their feet and keep active.

Dan has spent a large part of his career working closely with companies across the Far North, Central Highlands, and Bowen Basin to find solutions to their workplace injury  management needs.  He has experience delivering workplace interventions including manual handling training, ergonomic assessments and education, work hardening programs and return to work plans.  If you have any queries regarding workplace injury prevention and management, or if your looking to get yourself back to work, Dan’s always happy to have a chat.

David Boyd

David Boyd is a senior physiotherapist and has a Bachelor of Health Studies (Human Movement and Health Studies) and Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) both from the University of South Australia.

Dave has a keen interest in sport; playing basketball during his junior and early senior sporting life, representing SA on the national stage and graduating from the SA Sports Institute. He has since switched to footy and has been playing in the SAAFL in division 2 for the Old Ignatians before relocating to Mount Gambier.

Dave has a diverse working history, and has worked as a physiotherapist in a hospital setting and in private practice in Port Lincoln and Adelaide. Dave has also run his own physiotherapy practice, and spent two years in China working as a physiotherapist and teaching English. Dave has always maintained his passion for trying to better understand the human body and how to improve movement to reduce injuries and increase performance.

Elaine Kuczmarski

Elaine Kuczmarski is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist with over 25 years  experience in the field of Health and Fitness. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement from The University of South Australia, as well as Certificate IV in Fitness. Elaine is also certified in clinical Pilates, exercise rehabilitation, fitness testing, nutrition education, personal training, older adult training and group fitness. Inge-Lise Bygott

Inge-Lise Bygott has been a physiotherapist for 30 years and has had extensive experience in the private practice sector working in Melbourne, Brisbane, regional NSW and now Darwin. She has also worked in aged care and community services in Brisbane, Melbourne and Darwin treating older clients with orthopaedic and neurological conditions.  Inge-Lise has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (University of Queensland 1988) and Master of Physiotherapy Research (The University of Melbourne, 1996).

Inge-Lise is passionate about improving quality of function in those affected by movement disorders from injury or disease in any age group from children to aged adults.  She has excellent manual therapy skills and her particular interests are in working with neck and back pain, post-surgical orthopaedics, women’s health – post natal conditions such as breast engorgement, mastitis, pelvic floor dysfunction and in occupational health with managing work-related injuries including worksite assessments and pre-employment physical assessments.  She also has an interest in balance and falls prevention assessment and exercise prescription for those at risk older adults.

Inge-Lise has four school aged children and has moved to Darwin to accompany her husband in his work transfer.  Her three daughters are heavily involved with dance and with a physiotherapist as their mother, have managed to minimise injury to date and the youngest son is starting to show an interest in basketball.  Inge-Lise enjoys beach walks and swimming, and keeping active with family and the two dogs.

Jared Strawbridge

Jared Strawbridge is a physiotherapist who recently relocated to Mount Gambier from Adelaide. Jay James

Jay James is a remedial and musculoskeletal massage therapist. Her massage therapy involves detailed assessment and treatment prescription based on the needs of the individual.

Jodi Parsons

Jodi Parsons graduated in 2008 from University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, WA and worked in Albany upon completion of her degree. Karen Deweerdt

Karen Deweerdt is a massage therapist who graduated with a Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2017 and has special interest in remedial, sports, deep tissue and relaxation massage and enjoys incorporating Myofascial Cupping Techniques™ into these routines on request.

Khadija Khelwaty

Khoi Pham

Khoi Pham is a physiotherapist who graduated from University of South Australia in 2017 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. He has a strong interest in treating musculoskeletal injuries surrounding the shoulder and lower back, and also providing rehabilitation for sports related injuries. His personal interests in sports led him to work as a Sports Trainer for CBC’s Old Collegians Football Club for one year.

Khoi has completed additional training in dry needling, and is involved in providing rehabilitation through hydrotherapy and the use of the gym. Khoi’s approach to physiotherapy is to develop a good relationship between the patient and himself so that the necessary treatment can be provided along with the necessary education and advice to ensure a successful long term outcome.

Kimberley McCourt (nee Wilson) is a remedial massage therapist and has been practising for nine years. Kylie Loffler

Kylie Loffler is a massage therapist who completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage at The Australian Institute of Fitness. She started her massage career working in sports with the SANFL Umpires and the Port Adelaide Football Club.

Lauren Goffredo is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who recently graduated from Flinders University with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her main areas of interest include nutrition for geriatric health including modified texture diets, malnutrition and rehabilitation as well as cardiovascular nutrition, oncology, diabetes and weight management.

Lisa Tomney

Lisa Tomney has been at Northcare Physio since 2010. Alongside her standard physiotherapy qualifications, Lisa has had further training and qualifications in dry needling, clinical pilates and women’s health in preventative pelvic floor exercises.

Lisa is involved in running  the ante-natal aqua exercise classes conducted in the purpose-built pool at our Salisbury Plain clinic. Lisa has a keen interest in hydrotherapy exercise programs more broadly, and also has experience in worksite assessments and suitability of jobs, together with pre-employment assessments.

Liz Pheils

Liz Pheils is a psychologist who relocated to Cairns from NSW in 2014 with her dog and is very pleased to have made the change, as she points out “life in Far North Queensland is truly like living in paradise”.

Liz completed her provisional registration in 2011 working in Sydney with individuals living with an eating disorder.  As part of this role Liz supported not only those individuals who were suffering but also the loved ones who cared for them.  Since then Liz has managed several services providing a range of opportunities for people living with chronic and persistent mental illness.  Most recently Liz worked in the disability employment sector in Cairns before joining Northcare.

Liz uses a range of approaches and interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Interpersonal Therapy.  Liz works with clients experiencing a range of issues including anxiety, complex mental health (including Bi-Polar and Personality Disorders), depression, stress, self-esteem and confidence, grief and loss, trauma (including sexual abuse), eating disorders, bullying, addiction and substance use, pain management, relationship breakdown, vocational counselling and workplace issues.

Matt Tan

Meredith Ferguson

Michael Callan

Michael Callan is a physiotherapist who relocated to Adelaide early 2019, having spent the last decade in Perth. Originally from Canada, Michael moved to Perth in 2008 to study Physiotherapy at Curtin University. After completing his Physiotherapy degree in 2010, he began working in private practice.

In 2014, he went back to Curtin part-time and completed a Master of Clinical Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal Major) whilst working full-time in the clinic. He enjoyed the experience so much that he began working as a postgraduate clinical supervisor at Curtin for a few years prior to leaving Perth.

Michael sees a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and back pain, shoulder pain, knee, hip and leg pain, muscle pain and nerve pain. He has worked with athletes and sport teams as well as in chronic pain clinics. He also has additional training in management of dizziness.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys exercise at the gym, golf and tennis, as well as spending time with his family and dog.

Michael Lowe

Michael Lowe trained in Adelaide and Melbourne and has worked as a physiotherapist in the Adelaide metropolitan area for over 35 years. Post-graduate studies in musculoskeletal physiotherapy enhanced his special interest in musculoskeletal disorders which includes all neck and back conditions from sport, work, accidents or recreation and age related injuries.

Michael established the South Australian Headache Treatment Centre and has taught physiotherapy treatment for headaches. He also applies skills in the Feldenkrais and Pilates methods for movement re-education and core stability training.

Michael is a former President of the Australian Physiotherapy Association in South Australia and has tutored at the University of South Australia. He is a member of Rugby SA’s Hall of Fame and is a Life Member of Old Collegians Rugby Union Football Club following his time as Head Physiotherapist for the State Rugby Union team, and involvement in the Adelaide International Rugby 7’s and the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In the early part of his career he also worked with the Port Adelaide Football Club and the SA Weightlifting Association.

Nick Deegan

Nick Deegan joined Northcare Physio in 2005, and has more than 10 years of clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working in a number of our clinics.

Nick spent several years as the worksite physiotherapist for GM Holden and VISY in metropolitan Adelaide. He started his career in the hospital setting at Royal Adelaide Hospital, and soon realised his passion lay within the private sector of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Pauline Hirschhorn

Pauline Hirschhorn is trained as a Health Psychologist in the Netherlands. Since 1990 she has been working in various health care settings, from Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Aged Care to Private Practice.

Pauline emigrated to Australia in 2013. Her main areas of interest are depression, anxiety, trauma and adjustment disorders. Pauline is also specialised in dealing with the impact of physical conditions on mental health.

Pauline is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).

Prathyusha Doppalapudi

Prathyusha Doppalapudi graduated from Maniple University, India with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2001 and Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2003.

Prathyusha has worked in private physiotherapy clinics in India before moving to Australia in 2002. She worked in the hospital system in NSW and SA for over 5 years including acute, rehabilitation wards, outpatients, paediatrics and fracture clinics. Some specialised areas include cardiac rehabilitation at Royal Adelaide Hospital, spinal injury and amputee rehabilitation at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre in Adelaide.

To further her career in private practice, Prathyusha commenced work at Northcare Physio in 2009. She has a keen interest in all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy with a special interest in spinal and back injuries, clinical pilates rehabilitation, and women’s health.

Outside work, Prathyusha enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, and enjoys cooking, watching movies, regular walking and hikes.

Rachael White

Rachael White has over 10 years experience in treating and working with clients ranging from elite sporting athletes, children, pregnant and post natal women as well as elderly clients. She also has a wide range of experience in occupational rehab from workplace injuries, worksite assessment and pre-employment screening.

Rachael has been trained as a pilates instructor and bounce back rehabilitation uses this in her practice for rehabilitation.  We offer running and cycling biomechanic advice including optimising bike setup, as well as many other sports specific rehabiliation techniques.

Sarah Ransom

Sarah Ransom (nee Judd) graduated from the University of South Australia in 2013 and was lucky enough to gain employment with Northcare Physio in her hometown, Mount Gambier. Sarah shares her time between Northcare Physio and a private paediatric practice.

Sarah has a particular interest in assisting her clients to be educated about their condition and guiding them to becoming independent in management of their condition. Sarah has undertaken further training in dry needling and chronic pain management.

Sarah is currently on maternity leave.

Spencer Jackman

Spencer Jackman is a physiotherapist who graduated from University of SA in 2014 with a Masters in Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement). Spencer practised in Adelaide upon finishing his studies until moving to Mount Gambier early 2018.

Spencer takes a holistic approach in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions incorporating Pilates, hydrotherapy and dry needling into treatment if appropriate.

Originally from Penola, Spencer has a keen interest in sport, the outdoors, music and travelling, and enjoys the country lifestyle.

Tania Robertson

Tania Robertson graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) in 2009 and gained her Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2011.

Tania has 4 years of massage experience and specialises in sports and deep tissue massage and relaxation massage. She has a background in sporting injuries and has experience working with two country football clubs providing pre and post game massage treatment. Tania has a keen interest in treating both sporting and occupational injuries to relieve muscular pain and imbalance.

Outside of work, Tania enjoys travelling the world with her twin sister and cheering on the Port Adelaide Football club and the Adelaide 36ers.

Trevor Keen is a physiotherapist who graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2016, and shortly after moved abroad to the UK where he worked in professional cricket for a couple of years, which was an incredible experience.

Trevor is an avid sports lover, especially the game of cricket.  He enjoys travel with his lovely fiance, together with walks and bike riding.
